Adequate response to the message sent by the United States of America regarding judges would be better for everyone, because we all understand that the addressees of this message are the Government and Ivanishvili, Lelo MP Ana Natsvilishvili told reporters.
When asked whether other persons are expected to be sanctioned, Natsvlishvili said that the sanctioning of judges was only the beginning.
"Blinken's letter also emphasized that the United States will continue to hold accountable those who use power for personal benefits rather than public interest. Therefore, this shows that this is only the beginning, so an adequate response to the message sent by the United States of America regarding the judges would be better for everyone, because we all understand that the addressees of this message are the Government and Ivanishvili," said Ana Natsvilishvili.
As for the opposition's request for a fact-finding commission, Ana Natsvlishvili says that the purpose of the commission is to determine the scheme of the four sanctioned judges in the process of managing the court system and the people behind them.
"Yesterday there were questions about the evidence used by the United States of America. This information has been public for years and easily available to the Government, but the US Government, unlike our Government, is law-abiding, so information that was available to everyone has been considered, evaluated and the relevant decision has been made. The Georgian Government has 10 times more information about the criminal scheme, but unlike the US Government, this Government does not give an adequate assessment of the information that is available in the public space regarding the clan rule. Accordingly, the purpose of the investigative commission, which the opposition has requested, is not to review any decision. It is about the four people who are managing the system, although we know that the clan rule is not based on four people. Therefore, if the Parliament wants to respond adequately, a fact-finding commission should be created, which will study the rest of the scheme beyond these four people", said Ana Natsvlishvili.
According to her, they will officially address the President in the next few hours with the request to convene an extraordinary session.
"Relevant procedures are underway in the opposition in order to prepare a document and send it to the President," said Ana Natsvlishvili.
