Personally, I have a traditional family, I have children who were brought up on the principles of justice and honesty, and against the background of this "lynching trial" and also taking into account that one of the main democratic achievements of the last period in the USA is considered the change the sex of a child from the age of 6, I don't want to have anything to do with it, since my family really doesn't need such "values", judge Irakli Shengelia writes on Facebook, responding to the imposition of sanctions against four judges, including him, by the US Department of State.
According to Shengelia, in today's situation, neither he nor his family really have any desire to visit the USA.
According to him, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Ambassador Kelly Degnan "restored the lynch rule".
"I would like to respond to the decision of the US State Department to impose sanctions on me and my colleagues.
First of all, the fact that this unprecedented decision does not meet the standard with any evidence is striking; I have not heard an explanation of this from either Secretary of State Blinken or Ambassador Degnan, other than the general indication that there is some "reliable information" that appears to confirm our corruption.
Such evidence cannot exist, for the simple reason that facts of corruption do not exist. I and my other colleagues (including those sanctoned) performed and perform our official duties (including the administration of justice) in full compliance with the current legislation of Georgia, only as a result of a complete and objective review and assessment of the evidence in the case. No pressure, illegal manipulation has ever been carried out either by me or by anyone else on other judges, in order to interfere in their activities.
All this makes me think that there is a tried-and-tested scheme that worked well, for example, in Ukraine, Albania, where, under the guise of "reforms", the system was purged of unwanted judges, where the sovereignty of states in the judiciary and the administration of this authority (including the appointment of judges) were violated and handed over to the so-called the commission of "inspectors" composed of international experts.
In today's situation, neither I nor my family really have any desire to visit the USA. The ideals and democratic principles, with which this country used to pride itself, are practically leveled, they no longer exist. On the contrary, all the values on which the ideology of this country was based have been distorted and degraded, and, first of all, it was justice and, based on it, the irrevocable protection of human rights, equality, etc. Ignoring all this, against the background of yesterday's statement, US Secretary of State and Ambassador Degnan practically restored the lynch practice (of course, in a figurative sense) and it was by this practice that Georgian judges were "convicted" and "declared guilty", which once again demonstrates their "high democratic standards".
Personally, I have a traditional family, I have children who were brought up on the principles of justice and honesty, and against the background of this "lynching trial" and also taking into account that one of the main democratic achievements of the last period in the USA is considered the change the sex of a child from the age of 6, I don't want to have anything to do with it, since my family really doesn't need such "values"," writes Shengelia.
