15 streets of Tbilisi to be named after national heroes of Georgia and fighters fallen in August war

15 streets of Tbilisi will be named after the national heroes of Georgia and the fighters who died in the 2008 Russian-Georgian war. The relevant decision was taken by the Tbilisi City Council.

 

The mentioned persons are: Aleksandre Oniani, Giorgi Antsukhelidze, Levan Devdariani, Ilia Babutsidze, Giorgi Jojua, Levan Chochua, Koba Sergia, Giorgi Berikashvili, Giorgi Ghviniashvili, Anzor Geldiashvili, Natalia Samkanashvili, Giga Chikhladze, Aleksandre Klimchuk and Stan Storymans.

 

The initiative was discussed at today’s session of the Tbilisi City Council, which was attended by the family members of the fallen fighters.

 

The meeting participants paid tribute to the memory of those who died in the August war with a moment of silence.
