Anri Okhanashvili: The request to establish a visa regime is related to the involvement in war with Russia

04.08.22 13:40

The request to establish a visa regime is related to the involvement in war with Russia, said Anri Okhanashvili, Chairman of the Legal Affairs Committee, answering a question whether a visa regime should be established due to the large number of citizens coming from Russia.

According to him, similar demands are related to destabilization of the country and involvement in war, which is the interest of the opposition.

"We are acting in accordance with the interests of the population and not for short-term political steps offered by the radical opposition groups. Nobody has any other interest - they want to destabilize the country and get the country involved in war, all specific proposals serve this interest", Okhanashvili said.

For information, the Lelo for Georgia party called on the Georgian authorities to establish a visa regime for the citizens of Russia and Belarus.
