Parliament to set up working group on EC's 12-point conditions

04.08.22 12:30

Georgian Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee will establish five working groups to address the 12-point conditions outlined by the European Council (EC). The groups will work on de-oligarchization, judicial reform, the Electoral Code, the Anti-Corruption Agency, and Special Investigation Service and the Personal Data Protection Service.

After the Committee sitting, the working group on de-oligarchization will meet. The ruling team expects proposals from the opposition.

As Anri Okhanashvili, Legal Affairs Committee Chair told journalists, the opposition political parties earlier asked for time to work out the Georgian Dream’s proposal on de-oligarchization.

European Council decided on June 23 to grant EU candidate status to Georgia once the priorities outlined in the 12-point recommendations are addressed.
