Former President Mikheil Saakashvili will make a statement about his retirement from politics himself, lawyer Valeri Gelbakhiani said as he arrived at the Viva-Med clinic.

 

According to him, Mikheil Saakashvili is no longer in contact with the leaders of the National Movement.

 

"He has not been in contact with the leaders of this party for the last period. He has been communicating only with family members and lawyers. So, I don’t know who informed them about his departure from politics. The simple formula is that his life is in danger, so he is not able to be involved in politics. He wants to save his own life. He already took a lot on himself when he risked knowing that he would be caught and still came, but life is such a thing, there are no risks here. He took a risk when he arrived here, knowing that he would be arrested. You should see how Saakashvili is, there is only a reflection of what he used to be. He has lost the energy he had, his name is the same, but physically he is a different person", said Gelbakhiani.
