I want to say one thing, as the head of the Government, I am doing and will do my best to further strengthen the relations we have with America and Europe. Of course, this is in the interests of our country, Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili told reporters, answering the question why the government is confronting the US Ambassador to Georgia, Kelly Degnan.

As the Prime Minister noted, everything should be done to strengthen relations with the main strategic partner, the US. At the same time, Gharibashvili noted that the government prevented the country from a great ordeal, a war.

"I would like to appeal to our society once again - we have gone through a great ordeal since the war in Ukraine started. Our team, all of us, together managed to avoid this ordeal for our country. Despite many attempts, provocations and direct appeals, our team avoided the biggest ordeal that could happen to our people and country, that is war. Thank God we have maintained peace, stability and double-digit economic growth through our national policies, not by chance. So now, of course, we must continue to run our country calmly, firmly, and move forward. Of course, at the same time, I want to say that we should do everything possible to strengthen our relations with our main strategic partner, America.

Too many questions have been asked by the public, too many politicians are very actively involved in asking these questions, too much information is being spread. I want to say one thing that I, as the head of the Government, am doing and will do my best to further strengthen the relations we have with America and Europe. Of course, this is in the interest of our country. This is our main task. We are heading towards Europe, this is an irreversible path. Everything else, all kinds of speculations are baseless," said Gharibashvili.
