Report on the implementation of the Association Agreement by Georgia was presented in the European Parliament - the document points out the necessity of carrying out reforms in a number of directions

The document welcomes the European Council's decision to recognize Georgia's European perspective and reiterates that in order to be granted the status, Georgia must successfully fulfill the main priorities indicated by the Commission in its conclusion on Georgia's application for joining the European Union, said MEP Sven Mikser, who presented the project of the annual report on the implementation of the Association Agreement by Georgia.

According to him, in order to demonstrate their political determination to implement the country's ambitious European aspirations, the document calls on the Georgian authorities to uphold the highest standards of democracy, rule of law and fundamental freedoms and firmly start implementing the reforms specified in the Commission's opinion.
