Will Putin get rid of Lavrov-Calantarian?

02.07.22 21:30

On several occasions Kavkazplus has written about the Armenian lobby, which has gained unprecedented influence in Russia, pushing Russia into geopolitical adventures that could lead this power to ruin and disintegration. And one of the main culprits for the fact that the Russian policy of supporting separatism has led to aggression in Ukraine and a bloody war is the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Armenian nationalist Sergei Kalantaryan, better known by his surname "Lavrov",

The latest "achievement" of Lavrov-Kalantaryan's office is the recognition by Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria of the so-called "independence" of the separatist DNR and LNR. Apparently this "recognition" is not perceived as a big "victory" even in the Kremlin. Although there is no doubt that Lavrov-Kalantaryan had a hand in this. As well as earlier "recognition" of separatist Abkhazia and so-called "South Ossetia" by Syria, Nauru and Nicaragua.

Even if by Kalantaryan's efforts the separatist DNR is recognized as another Nauru for huge bribes, which led to the disastrous situation in which Russia found itself with its military adventure in Ukraine, this will not improve the situation of Russia and, moreover, will not remove the sanctions. The Russian Foreign Ministry is expected to take real steps from Russia to break the international isolation in which it has found itself after its aggression in Ukraine. But here Lavrov Karlantaryan has nothing to boast about.

Not coincidentally, well-informed about the "secrets of the Kremlin's court", the SVR General telegram channel recently published information about President Vladimir Putin's dissatisfaction with the work of his foreign ministry:

"Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced a major "debriefing" with the Foreign Ministry after his return to Russia. Putin is extremely dissatisfied with the performance of the Foreign Ministry and believes that the poor performance of the Foreign Ministry is to blame for many of the failures in implementing foreign policy objectives. The President is convinced that the Foreign Ministry has lost the ability to "convey messages" to partners in a way that is understood and taken into account. Putin also said that the entry of Finland and Sweden into NATO had been a failure for Lavrov's ministry, saying they had not conveyed the right arguments to Erdogan, who had changed his mind about blocking their entry. It is precisely Turkey's agreement for Finland and Sweden to join the North Atlantic Alliance that has become Putin's main irritant and reason for voicing displeasure with the work of the Foreign Ministry. But the Russian president is not dissatisfied with the Foreign Ministry alone. Thus, in the near future, several ministers and governors will be summoned to Putin for questioning; all personnel decisions will be based on the results of these meetings. By the end of the summer, Putin also plans to "adjust the structure of the presidential administration's work. The president believes that it is time to reform the administration, and personnel reshuffles are a major part of the "reform". However, as usual Putin has plenty of plans, except that the implementation of these plans almost always suffers."

Any sensible head of state should have realised long ago that after what Lavrov-Kalantaryan has done to the Foreign Ministry, he should be dismissed immediately. Before Russia's situation becomes even more catastrophic.

Also other fellow countrymen who do nothing but harm to Russia should be also removed from key decisions. Here it is enough to recall the blatant sabotage of Russian-Kazakh relations by Margarita Simonyan and her husband Tigran Keosayan. However, the prospects of such a "cleansing" of Russia are highly doubtful, judging by how total the dominance of the Armenian lobby in Russia remains.
