The Yezidi Theological Council has released another statement regarding "Tbilisi Pride". As stated in the statement, regardless of their theological or dogmatic attitudes towards sexual orientation, the primary value for them is non-violence.
The Yezidi Theological Council states that all people should have the freedom to exercise their freedom of expression peacefully under the Constitution.
"We, the Yezidi Theological Council in Georgia, definitely consider making another statement regarding the LGBT Pride scheduled for May 5. We are a community of people of faith who have endured much persecution and persecution throughout our history, and just a few years ago we became the targets of brutal genocide and persecution in Iraq. Who and who and we understand well what it means when you are persecuted not for doing something, but for who you are. Every religious community has its own value system. For us, as for other religions, there are events that we consider sinful and immoral, and there are events that are considered goodness, grace in Yezidi teaching. The greatest immorality, immorality, and sin for our teachings is the utter exclusion of the excluded, the oppression of the weak, and the violence of the vulnerable.
Unfortunately, we made a mistake because we did not realize that in the face of violence, threats and confrontation at the door, our statement could be used to legitimize violence, which it did. Very soon, people immediately shared our statement and gave a peculiar interpretation to its content. We, the Yezidi Theological Council and the Yezidi religious community, believe that regardless of our theological or dogmatic attitudes towards sexual orientation, the most important value for us is non-violence. "We believe that, despite our different approaches, all people should have the freedom to exercise their freedom of expression peacefully under the Constitution," the statement said.
