My wife and I still have 200 million USD as free assets besides the billion and a half," Bidzina Ivanishvili, chairman of the Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia, said in an interview with Entrepreneur magazine.
As Ivanishvili points out, his children will leave enough not to lose motivation for creation something new, full self-realization and development, to which the dividends might serve as an obstacle.
"This billion and a half will be fully spent on charity. This process started on December 30-31 last year and this process will continue irreversibly. My wife and I still have 200 million USD as free assets besides the billion and a half. My children will leave enough not to lose motivation for creation something new, full self-realization and development, to which the dividends might serve as an obstacle,” Bidzina Ivanishvili said.
Asked by a journalist how his children reacted to his decision, Bidzina Ivanishvili said that he made the decision in agreement with them and that they fully share his approach.
"I am glad that my children are ambitious, creative people and I am sure they will achieve great success independently. The main thing I gave them is good education and what is no less important, complete freedom of choice. We wanted them to choose their future activity, because to love the work that you do and serve is no less important than success. As for the excess money, they share my attitude and think similarly. By the way, the passage comparing the excess money with excess weight was removed from the interview you mentioned by Vedomosti and neither did Forbes publish it in my short interview in the same year of 2005," - said Bidzina Ivanishvili.
