According to the former President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, Nino Ananiashvili made a personal decision, however, "it has no justification." This is how Saakashvili responded to Nino Ananiashvili's decision to head the Novosibirsk Ballet in Russia. As Mikheil Saakashvili noted, he did not like Ananiashvili's decision.
"A large part of Georgia is occupied by Russia. Imagine Edith Piaf saying I'm going to Berlin to sing in the Berlin cabaret when France was occupied by Germany. Nino Ananiashvili is a genius ballerina. I will never forget her farewell concert at the City Gallery in New York, where people were applauding her for 50 minutes. All this is true, it is her personal choice, but it has no justification," Saakashvili said.
As for Nino Ananiashvili's husband Grigol Vashadze, as Saakashvili said, he has already resigned and neither the country nor the party is responsible for his actions.
"He said he did not want to be active in politics and left the chairmanship of the United National Movement. There were many people in the National Movement, some justified it and others did not. I think that Vashadze, as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, was brilliant and had great merits," Saakashvili said.
