According to Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, the implementation of the general transportation plan of the capital will be completed at the end of the year instead of August, due to the current situation.

The Mayor said that the yellow buses would be completely replaced by the end of the year.

"We all know very well how important the transport policy has been for us, and the public is well aware of our approach that public transport should be the fastest and most comfortable. We have already taken a few steps in this direction, we have started to purchase new buses. The yellow buses will be completely replaced by the end of the year and we will have ecologically clean, Euro 6 type buses. The Asian Development Bank is assisting us in this process. In addition, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) helps us develop bus networks and directions, which is very important. As for the project of the Asian Development Bank - the general transport plan of the capital, it should have been completed in August, but due to the current situation, this date will be postponed until the end of the year,” Kaladze said.
