Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has presented 54 new buses for the capital, as Tbilisi City Hall plans to completely replace the outdated bus fleet by the beginning of next year.
38 of the new vehicles are eight-meter ISUZU buses, while the remaining 16 are 10-meter MAN buses.
Each ISUZU bus has 21 seats for 53 passengers, while the MAN buses are for 82 passengers and have 27 seats.
The new buses are equipped with wireless internet, modern heating and conditioning systems, cameras and phone chargers.
They are fully adapted for people with disabilities.
"We are undergoing an urban evolution. Tbilisi City Hall is taking all steps to meet the demands of the modern world. We aim more and more people to use public transport in Tbilisi,” the Mayor noted.
The total cost of the project is 22 million USD.
