Georgian Railways: Near Ksani Street, a mass of stone fell from the slope on the rail track, due to which the Batumi-Tbilisi, Tbilisi-Borjomi and Tbilisi-Batumi trains were temporarily interrupted

According to the Georgian Railways, a mass of stone fell from the slope on the Didube-Avchala crossing, near Ksani Street, on the rail tracks at dawn today. As a result of the incident, the Batumi-Tbilisi, Tbilisi-Borjomi and Tbilisi-Batumi trains were temporarily interrupted.

 

According to them, one track was promptly cleaned by the relevant services of the Georgian Railways and it was possible to resume the movement of trains on time.

 

"At this stage, the cleaning works of the track of the second direction are underway. As soon as the works are completed, the traffic on the second track will resume as usual, taking into account all safety rules. At the same time, the location of the stone fall is being inspected and studied by relevant specialists," the information reads.
