The number of passengers transported by air in Georgia amounted to 178.1 thousand in 2022, and the volume of passenger turnover during the same period amounted to 412.2 million passenger kilometres. The mentioned indicators increased by 94.9% and 138.3% year-on-year, the National Statistics Service (GeoStat) reported.
The volume of freight and mail transported by air amounted to 667.0 thousand tons in 2022, and total freight and mail turnover amounted to 1 238.0 million ton-kilometre. The mentioned indicators increased by 53.7% and 52.3% compared to the previous year.
The airports of Georgia served 4,456.1 thousand passengers in 2022, which is 79.0% higher than the corresponding indicators of the previous year. During the mentioned period, 2,196.1 thousand passengers (75.7% more than last year) arrived at the airports of Georgia, and 2,260.0 thousand passengers departed (82.4% more than last year).
The number of flights amounted to 21.5 thousand in 2022, which is 42.8% higher than the corresponding indicator of the previous year.
