MPs and city council members, who have left Georgian Dream, set up public movement

28.07.22 15:30

MPs and city council members that have left Georgian Dream are forming a public movement.

As Sozar Subar stated at the briefing held in the Parliament, they decided to create a public movement after yesterday's letter of Bidzina Ivanishvili and the response of the US Ambassador to it.

According to him, the goal of the movement will be to answer questions, prevent war and make Georgia's European integration irreversible.

In addition, Subari noted that if a war breaks out in Georgia, there will be no discussion of the European Union or NATO, because Georgia's statehood will be abolished for some time.

"Yesterday Bidzina Ivanishvili confirmed in the letter what we have been saying for so long, that there was a danger of Georgia's involvement in the war. Today, this danger has slowed down, but it is not completely eliminated - the danger exists! When such a heavy battle is taking place in our region - the biggest war on the European continent after the Second World War, every year there is a danger that Georgia may be dragged into this war. We must do everything to prevent this war for the country and people. For this, it is necessary to bring what happens behind the scenes and outside public policy to the judgment of the public, to tell the public more truth and to provide more information. What is closed in politics is the biggest danger for making decisions that will not be useful for the country and may even be destructive", said Sozar Subari.
