According to opposition MP Tamar Kordzaia, who is on an official visit to Kiev, the Ukrainian authorities are considering all possible options for Saakashvili's release from prison.
"Full treatment should be provided outside the prison and abroad. They know for sure, especially Ms. Denisova, the Public Defender of Ukraine, that it is impossible to fully rehabilitate Mikheil Saakashvili's health in this situation in the 12th facility in Rustavi, no matter what conditions the Georgian government creates for him. Everyone agrees that there have been many procedural violations against Mikheil Saakashvili since the day of his arrest.
Despite the difficult situation in Ukraine with regard to Russia, Mikheil Saakashvili is still a priority for those people. They are also concerned by what happened to the State Inspector," Tamar Kordzaia said.
Opposition MPs Tamar Kordzaia and Levan Bezhashvili are holding talks with the Ukrainian authorities on the case of Mikheil Saakashvili. They met with the Public Defender of Ukraine, Lyudmila Denisova. The main topic of the talks was the establishment of a fact-finding commission into the torture and inhuman treatment of imprisoned Saakashvili.
