Judoka Guram Tushishvili won a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics. In the final, Tushishvili lost to the representative of the Czech Republic, Lukasz Krpalek.

It is noteworthy that the Czech judoka won the second Olympics in a row.


Tushishvili joined the competition from the second round, where he convincingly defeated a representative of Tajikistan. In the quarterfinals, he defeated a member of the Brazilian national team and 2-time Olympic silver medalist, while in the semifinals, Tushishvili defeated Russian Tamerlan Bashaev.
