Parliament supported the amendment to the 2021 state budget

The Parliament of Georgia, at the plenary session of the extraordinary session, with 85 votes, unanimously supported the revised version of the draft law "On the State Budget of Georgia for 2021".

 

According to the First Deputy Minister of Finance, Giorgi Kakauridze, considering the recent positive trends, the economic growth rate in the project is 7.7%.

 

"It is very important that a few days ago the International Monetary Fund confirmed our forecast and their updated forecast is similar," - said Giorgi Kakauridze.

 

According to him, the planned high economic growth will allow to increase budget revenues.

 

According to the First Deputy Minister of Finance, the three main goals of the budget increase were: reducing the deficit, promoting economic recovery and managing COVID-19 and related health measures.

 

With changes in the state budget for 2021: the deficit is reduced from 7.6 to 6.9%; Government debt is reduced to 54.6%; Total budget revenues increase by GEL 1,174.9 million to GEL 17,933.1 million; Budget allocations totaled GEL 19,498.8 million, an increase of GEL 1,114.2 million compared to the approved plan.

 

According to the project, the amount allocated to the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia has increased by 600 million GEL compared to the initially approved budget. The budget for the management of COVID-19 will increase by GEL 446 million to GEL 846 million, including the plan to purchase vaccines for 60% of the population under the COVID-19 vaccination plan.


Assignments of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development will increase by 36.0 million GEL and will amount to 642.8 million GEL.

 

The allocations of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure will increase by GEL 90.0 million compared to the initial plan of 2021 and will amount to GEL 2,456.6 million.
