Japanese PM declares state of emergency in Tokyo to stop coronavirus spread

Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga has declared a state of emergency in Tokyo to curb the spread of the coronavirus . Reuters reports about this.

 

The state of emergency in the Japanese capital will take effect on Monday and will last until August 22.

 

It should be noted that the Olympic Games will be held in Tokyo from July 23 to August 8. Earlier, the Organizing Committee of the World Olympics said they were ready to hold events without spectators if necessary.

896 cases of coronavirus were detected in Tokyo in the last day .
