Natia Turnava - We can assume that economic growth this year will be at least eight percent

Unprecedented economic growth in April and May allows us to assume that economic growth this year will be at least eight percent, - said the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Natia Turnava.

According to him, redoubled efforts are needed to make Georgia a leading state in the region in terms of economic growth.

"When we say that after the pandemic, when we had a 6.2 percent economic downturn in 2020, in terms of economic growth, we will continue to be one of the leading states in the region. This means that we need to redouble our efforts to achieve the status of a leader. In recent months we have seen that this is possible - unprecedented economic growth in April and May allows us to assume that economic growth this year will be at least eight percent. This means that we will completely reverse last year's decline and move to absolute growth, and then, in 2025-2030, we will maintain 5-5.2% growth, which will strengthen our status as a regional leader in terms of economic growth, "- said Natia Turnava.
