Georgia is being dragged into the Armenian-Iranian corridor. Dead end!

The recent visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili to Azerbaijan showed that there are no unsolvable issues in relations between the two friendly countries, no matter how much individual provocateurs would like to stir up a conflict. In particular, the Georgian prime minister made it clear that the countries are close to a final agreement on David-Gareji.

“We have a long history of fruitful cooperation. We are motivated to implement even more projects together. We also examined the situation in the region. Including security issues. We touched upon almost all issues that stand between the countries, including the topic of David-Gareji. And we agreed that the dialogue will continue, accelerate, and be resolved very soon, as it corresponds to our fraternal and friendly relations. The commissions will continue their work very soon, the details will become known later, ”Irakli Garibashvili said following the visit.

According to Irakli Garibashvili, with the speaker of the parliament and the prime minister of Azerbaijan, he also discussed economic issues. It was agreed that the parties should step up their work in terms of investment. Thus, the visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia to Baku was successful and fruitful. However, the Armenian "well-wishers" of Georgia and Azerbaijan, for some reason, would like to hope that everything was not so. How else to explain the appearance in the lragir publication close to Nikol Pashinyan of the article “Garibashvili refused Aliyev and is now going to Yerevan” (https://www.lragir.am/ru/2021/05/11/204894/)

The visit to Yerevan by the Prime Minister of Georgia was originally planned and precisely after the visit to Baku. This is also symbolic since the Georgian authorities thereby emphasize that Azerbaijan is a much more important partner for Georgia than Armenia. And it is very interesting what the Armenian provocateurs saw as "Garibashvili's refusal to Aliyev":

“In December 2020, in Baku, Erdogan announced his support for Aliyev’s initiative to form a platform of six countries - Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Russia, Turkey, and Iran. True, this idea has not been developed to date. And, interestingly, not because of Armenia. To this day, official Tbilisi does not want to agree to joint participation in this platform with Moscow, ”the Baku media write.

In fact, Georgia "tore down" the Russian-Turkish platform, at the same time, Tbilisi took part in a five-sided meeting in Yerevan, where the Persian Gulf-Black Sea corridor was discussed. The meeting was attended by representatives of Georgia, Iran, Armenia, Greece, and Bulgaria ”.

However, it was initially known that Georgia did not want to deal with the country occupying its territory - Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region. Does this contradict the initiative of Ilham Aliyev? No way! Since Azerbaijan recognizes the territorial integrity of Georgia and hopes that Russia will also respect the territorial integrity of our country. And that could very well happen very quickly. Unless, of course, there is no obstacle on the part of the powerful Armenian lobby in the Russian Federation, which does not even hide its intention to turn the occupied Georgian Abkhazia into a “seaside Armenia”.

So, Georgia is not "tearing down" the platform of six, but is waiting for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan to be restored, and then nothing will prevent Georgia and Russia from participating in this platform.

As for the "Persian Gulf - Black Sea" corridor, Yerevan's hopes for participation in this "anti-Turkish" corridor of Bulgaria are especially interesting. But there they should understand that Bulgaria is increasingly economically gravitating towards Turkey and especially towards its main metropolis Istanbul. This situation does not at all humiliate the country's national sovereignty (which Turkey does not even think to encroach on) but gives Bulgaria a chance to get out of the economic and demographic crisis.

Let us recall that the economic orientation of Bulgaria towards the EU, even despite Bulgaria's full membership in the European Union, has resulted in nothing but a complete degradation of the economy and the desolation of the country as a result of the mass migration of young people to work in other EU countries. The reason is simple - geography and logistics. The country is located relatively far from the main economic centers of the EU and is practically not connected by transport with them. Unlike the economic centers of neighboring Turkey.

So it turns out that it is one thing to trade with Istanbul, located 100 kilometers away from the Bulgarian border, and completely different, with Hamburg or Rotterdam located at the other end of Europe.

The same applies, by the way, to Georgia. Even if Georgia becomes a full-fledged EU member, then being even further from the most economically developed EU countries than Bulgaria, it will not raise its economy especially due to such membership. But cooperation with Turkey will become an even more important factor.

Therefore, it is natural that Bulgaria has been paying more and more attention to essentially “salvific” economic cooperation with Turkey in recent years. And this cooperation is becoming very fruitful. As a result, Turkish investments are coming to Bulgaria, and enterprises economically connected with Turkey are gradually beginning to revive. This has a positive effect on the country - jobs appear, Bulgarians are not looking for work abroad and stay at home. In such conditions, Bulgaria is unlikely to take part in "anti-Turkish" projects.

Greece could take an example from Bulgaria and intensify cooperation with Turkey, but this is hampered by anti-Turkish nationalist frenzy, which, unfortunately, Greek politicians cannot get rid of.

As for the "Armenian-Iranian corridor", lragir further writes:

“On the same days, India announced transport plans that include this corridor. Blogger Alexander Lapshin writes in this regard that it was not by chance that the monument to Gandhi was burned in Yerevan these days, and this news was immediately disseminated in the Indian media. Lapshin suspects that this is not the work of Armenians. "

Regarding the burning of the Gandhi monument in Yerevan, Lapshin's "conspiracy" versions are simply ridiculous. And who regularly desecrates the memorial to the victims of the Holocaust? All this is clearly the work of the fascist Armenian nationalists. Aren't they the very ones who glorify the Nazi Garegin Nzhdeh?

It is clear that at the same time Armenian nationalists are hostile to the Zangezur corridor, which is called "Turkic":

“After the 44-day war, all the points of the Trilateral Declaration have been fulfilled, except for two - the return of prisoners and the opening of communications. Baku and Moscow are trying to link these two issues and force Armenia to open the "Turkic corridor". But these plans are facing widespread resistance in the region, which is trying to get out of the 200-year Russian-Turkish captivity.

This is a potentially very serious transport hub, which will have significance far beyond the regional framework, said Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov. How does Russia envision a "transport hub" - within the jurisdiction of Armenia? In Armenia, Lavrov said that the opening of transport communications should be "voluntary", hinting that Armenia itself should hand over the border with Iran to Russia to "patrol" the "Turkic corridor".

Aliyev himself says that the issue of railways is being discussed with the Russian Federation. “Armenian railways belong to Russia. Therefore, we are discussing this issue with the Russian side, ”he said.

Will Garibashvili discuss the Persian Gulf - Black Sea corridor in Yerevan? This is relevant against the background of the growth of anti-Turkish sentiment in Georgia, where protests continue in connection with the construction of the Namakhvan hydroelectric power station. The Turkish Ambassador to Georgia announced Erdogan's visit to Tbilisi ”.

Here lragir hints almost in plain text that the protests against the construction of the Namakhvani hydroelectric power station and anti-Turkish sentiments in Georgia are the business of the Armenian lobby. Meanwhile, the prospects of the Garibashvili government are directly related to the implementation of large-scale investment projects - the same Namakhvani hydroelectric power station. It turns out that in Yerevan, media close to Pashinyan, says Garibashvili, "yes it is we," muddy the waters "against investment projects on which your political future depends"? And after that, how should the Georgian prime minister treat those who harm his country and his government?

Nevertheless, dreams continue in Yerevan. Here, for example, is the post of the Armenian telegram channel with the eloquent name ANTITURAN, which contains the map of the “Armenian-Iranian corridor”:

Surely Garibashvili will also show this map. “Out of courtesy”, of course, both he and other Georgian politicians can hear about the projects of the “great trans-Armenian corridors”, but for the economy and prospects of Georgia, their significance is zero. Moreover, it cannot be compared with the colossal significance for Georgia of cooperation with Azerbaijan and Turkey and the development of such already existing transit projects as the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, and the Southern Gas Corridor.
