Khatuna Samnidze: I do not think there should be a single candidate or a single list, now is the time to propose the public a variety of choices

I do not think there should be a single candidate, or a single list. Now is the time to propose the public a variety of choices, - Khatuna Samnidze, chairwoman of the Republican Party, told reporters, in connection with the forms of opposition's participation in the local elections.

As Khatuna Samnidze explains, it is important for the opposition spectrum to be coordinated.

"I have already had contact with Nika Melia. I think there will soon be an opportunity for the opposition spectrum to sit down and talk about how we see self-government elections. I personally do not think there should be a single candidate, or a single list. Now is the time to propose the public a variety of choices, but in this process, a unified campaign is important, this is directly linked to the point of Charles Michel's document - which is that the Georgian Dream should not get 43% if we want to hold snap elections. We must be united and coordinated in this campaign, I see the role of Nika Melia here. He can run this campaign all over Georgia so that, first of all, the Georgian Dream does not get 43%. Georgian citizens should vote for the opposition, make any choice, but not for the Georgian Dream", - Samnidze said.

called on the United National Movement to join the document of the President of the European Council Charles Michel and to take part in the parliamentary work.

"I urge my colleagues to join the agreement and take up the parliamentary work. I know there is a difference of opinion in the party with them. Too many people think that continuing the parliamentary work is vital not only for the party but also for this country. For this, it is necessary for the largest opposition party, which won the most votes, to be in the parliament and continue to work", - Samnidze said.
