Georgia reports 740 new cases of coronavirus

740 new cases of the virus were reported in the last 24 hours, said Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Chief of Operations at the Interagency Coordination Council, at a briefing at the government administration.

 

"As part of the intensive testing, 20,549 tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, including 14,802 antigen tests and 5,747 PCR tests. Testing revealed 740 new cases of the virus in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases detected since the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country is 266,462.

 

As for the positive rate, as of February 15, the daily positive rate is 3.6%, for the last 14 days - 2.9%, and for 7 days - 2.4%. In the last 24 hours, 496 people have recovered from the virus, and the total number of recoveries has increased to 259,228. Unfortunately, we have 14 new deaths from coronavirus in the last 24 hours. A total of 3,377 people have died from the virus since the pandemic spread.

 

 

 

Out of 740 new cases of infection detected in the country today: 328 cases were reported in Tbilisi, Adjara - 32, Imereti - 138, Kvemo Kartli - 25, Shida Kartli - 69, Guria - 55, Samegrelo - Zemo Svaneti - 41, Kakheti - 33, Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 9, Samtskhe-Javakheti - 7, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 3", - stated Sichinava.
