Wendy Morton, United Kingdom's Minister for European Neighborhood and the Americas, visited the village of Odzisi near the occupation line.

Wendy Morton reiterated the United Kingdom’s support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and condemned Russia's effective control of Georgia's occupied territories.

"Today I am here, on the so-called administrative border line, which has separated Georgia from the South Ossetian region since 2008, to see myself what the barbed wire and presence of Russian troops mean for the local population”, said the Minister.

According to her, the 12-year conflict has resulted in the division of families.

“The United Kingdom continues to strongly support Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity. We condemn Russia's effective control of the occupied territories of Georgia and its destabilizing actions in countries that it perceives as a threat," Wendy Morton said.
