05.07.19 15:00

On July 3-4, the Georgian capital hosted the first session of the Georgia-Serbia Intergovernmental Commission on trade-economic cooperation, within the scope of which, Genadi Arveladze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and Nemania Stevanovich, State Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, signed the bilateral agreement, defining the major priorities for the further trade-economic collaboration.

At the meeting, the parties also had a conversation on the launch of negotiations for the possible free-trade agreement between the two countries.

The experience of Serbia in terms of the European integration was one of the major issues covered at the session.

“We have wonderful political relations with Georgia,” stated Nemania Stevanovich. “The agreement, which we signed earlier today, is to take our economic and trade cooperation to the new level. I am sure that the given document will contribute to the enhancement of our economic ties.”

Within the framework of the first session of the Georgia-Serbia Intergovernmental Commission, the Chambers of commerce and industry of Georgia and Serbia organized a business forum, enabling the representatives of the sector to hold face-to-face meetings and discuss the upcoming plans.
