Economy Minister: It’s clear that recent political situation affect Gel’s exchange rate

I always say that fundamental macroeconomic parameters as well as expectations affect Gel’s exchange rate, Minister of Economy Natia Turnava told reporters on Wednesday while responding to the question whether or not the current developments in the country makes an influence on the Gel’s exchange rate.

 

The Minister said that the political processes make affect the Gel’s exchange rate.

 

“The impact is obvious, as soon as the processes started normalization, the Gel’s exchange rate has also started normalization. I always say that fundamental macroeconomic parameters as well as expectations make impacts on Gel’s exchange rate. The political instability was making a negative expectation. We clearly see this interaction,” Natia Turnava said.
