Sergi Kapanadze: We are ready to participate in the working format but we are not going to take part in Georgian Dream's PR

“European Georgia” will support constitutional amendments prepared by the ruling team regarding the transition to the proportional electoral system.

 

As Vice-Speaker of Parliament Sergi Kapanadze told journalists, the transition to the proportional electoral system is a great achievement that the society has gained from Bidzina Ivanishvili and Georgian Dream.

 

The proposal that “Georgian Dream” has done can be improved. Including in terms of allowing electoral blocs and setting not zero percent threshold but higher. We will try to improve it in the working process, but if “Georgian Dream” will start trading and say that improvement is impossible, we will give consent to this version. In any case, the transition to proportional electoral system will have voices from “European Georgia”. As for today’s presentation, it was a PR step of Georgian Dream. We are ready to participate in the working format but we are not going to take part in the Georgian Dream’s PR” – Sergi Kapanadze said.
