Armenian PM not to rule out recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh's independence

“Yerevan does not rule out the recognition of Nagorno Karabakh’s independence,” Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at parliament’s extraordinary session on Sunday.

 

“We must discuss this issue very seriously. Maybe a wider public discussion will kick off. We will discuss all development scenarios. This issue will be moved away to the negotiating table,” Pashinyan said.


“Armenia is a guarantor of the security and independence of Artsakh. Today Armenia stands with Artsakh with the full potential of its state system and population. We will make every possible effort to ensure the borders of our homeland are secure, to protect our freedom and independence,” tweeted Armenian PM.

 

 

The Armenian government has already declared martial law and total military mobilization today.

 

The Azerbaijani parliament has declared a state of war in some cities and regions following clashes with Armenia in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

 

Earlier today, the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone has become tense.

 

Armenia and Azerbaijan blame each other for escalating the situation and opening fire. There are reports of casualties on both sides.
