Georgia has 198,611 PCR tests in stock

The country has 198,611 PCR tests in stock at the National Center for Disease Control as of September 7, the Ministry of Health told InterPressNews.

 

According to the Ministry, a total of 1,060,000 PCR tests were purchased, 670,000 PCR of which were purchased within the framework of the World Bank’s Covid 19 rapid response project, while 390,000 tests were purchased under ongoing contracts.

 

421,695 PCR tests have been performed in laboratories since January 31.

 

The first case of coronavirus was confirmed in Georgia on February 26. To date, there have been 1,773 confirmed cases in the country, 1,325 of the patients have already recovered and 19 have died.
