Deputy Health Minister: With 7 cases per 100 000 citizens, Georgia remains in green zone

07.09.20 18:00

According to Deputy Minister of Health Tamar Gabunia, the increase in the confirmed cases of coronavirus does not mean that a new wave has started or that the situation is alarming.

As Gabunia noted, based on the epidemiological picture, there is no basis for declaring a state of emergency or imposing restrictions.

At the same time, Gabunia noted that today the Ministry will present a model to the Interagency Coordination Council, according to which, the country still remains in the green zone.

“The country remains in the green zone. This is calculated according to the rate of infection per 100 000 citizens. The total rate for the last two weeks is 7 cases per 100 000 inhabitants. Up to 10 cases per 100 000 inhabitants is considered a green zone, 10-30 cases per 100,000 inhabitants is a yellow zone, and above 30 cases already means a red zone”, said the Deputy Minister.
