Tamar Gabunia, the Deputy Minister of Healthcare of Georgia, says that today, the readiness of the country's healthcare system is better to respond to epidemic threats.

According to her, the country has the necessary stock of ventilators, personal protective equipment and tests.

"The readiness of the healthcare system for micro-explosions and response to epidemics is much higher today than it was a few, even 2-3 months ago. The quality of mobilization of medical institutions is high. Today, 500 beds are ready to receive people infected with the coronavirus. If necessary, the number of beds will be increased. There is a specific scheme, depending on the number of active cases, to mobilise additional clinics. As for personal protective equipment, there is a supply of it, we also have a supply of tests and there will be additional purchases with the support of the World Bank, as well as with the help of the World Health Organization and other donors. Therefore, the readiness is quite high", - stated Gabunia.
