Anatoly Bibilov: The people of South Ossetia see their future only with Russia

26.08.20 10:25

The people of South Ossetia see their future only with Russia, - stated Anatoly Bibilov, the de facto president of occupied Tskhinvali.

According to the so-called president, after the "attack" carried out by Georgia in August 2008, the population was living in great anticipation of whether Russia would take a step that "would create a reliable barrier to Georgia's new adventure."

"After the attack of Georgia on the night of August 8, 2008 and the terrible days of the war, our unbroken people lived in great anticipation: whether a decisive step would be taken that would create a reliable barrier to Georgia's new military adventure. President Dmitry Medvedev's statement on the recognition of the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia by the Russian Federation has become a real common national holiday", - stated Bibilov.

For the record, the de facto authorities of occupied Tskhinvali are celebrating the anniversary of their recognition as "independent states" by Russia. Russia has recognized the so-called independence of the occupied regions of Georgia on August 26, 2008.
