Gigi Ugulava: Any attempt of the National Movement to nominate its candidate is violation of agreement

According to Gigi Ugulava, one of the leaders of European Georgia, it seems that Tako Charkviani's candidacy in Saburtalo constituency is creating inconvenience for the opposition unity. However, according to Ugulava, it should be noted that Charkviani was nominated as a candidate when she was a representative of the Power in Unity.

As Ugulava told InterPressNews, it will be fair if Irakli Okruashvili's party nominates its own candidate in the Isani constituency.

 

“It seems that she (Tako Charkviani) is creating inconvenience for the common task, but we must understand that she was nominated when she was a representative of the Power in Unity. So, it is wrong to use this argument against Vashadze. We may also consider that since Ms. Tako represents Vashadze's party, Irakli Okruashvili's party should also have a chance to nominate its own candidate in Isani. However, this does not apply to the National Movement. This is right and fair and I hope my colleagues will abide by this agreement," Ugulava said.

 

He said that any attempt of the National Movement to nominate its own candidate is a violation of the agreement.

 

"Vashadze is a joint candidate of the opposition and we made a decision on it in a consultation format. Therefore, any attempt of the National Movement to nominate its candidate is unacceptable to me and I consider it a violation of the agreement," Ugulava said.
