As MP Sergi Kapanadze, a member of European Georgia, said at a briefing at the party office, the government has already started bribing voters through various programs.
"It is especially important that there were a lot of international observers in this election. We know from the practice of previous elections that sometimes several thousand observers arrive. The practice of the OSCE is to send several hundred observers and try to be maximally represented here. It is very important that these observers arrive in Georgia and no one is hindered. We have information that the government wants the number of observers to be small, that they are hiding behind the so-called crisis - the pandemic, and hope that the number of observers will be correspondingly small. We therefore call on the government to do two things in addition to what they have already done - that is, they officially and formally sent a letter so that the observers could arrive in Georgia. First - they need to ensure that these observers from various international organizations, whether it is the OSCE, the Council of Europe, the NATO-Parliamentary Assembly or American organizations, enter Georgia without delay. This includes removing the quarantine requirement for observers and making it easier for them to enter. Second, the government must commit to provide health insurance to observers. There are talks that in some countries observers may not arrive due to the pandemic and also because of the insurance system of the country that does not operate in Georgia. Therefore, the country must take on this obligation if these elections are to be perceived as free and fair", - stated Kapanadze.
The member of European Georgi" calls on the authorities to meet several requests from international observers in terms of health insurance in the context of the pandemic. For example, if someone gets infected, they should get the treatment form the Georgian healthcare system.
