Success of Georgian Film at Shanghai International Film Festival

The Georgian, German-based filmmaker Dito Tsinitsadze has returned to his homeland with success obtained as the 22nd Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF).

 

Within the scope of the event, taking place on June 15-24, the Director presented his latest work ‘Inhale-Exhale’ to wider audiences and obtained the Grand-Prix for it.

 

Salome Demuria, playing the role of the protagonist of the feature, was also awarded as the best female character.

 

The film, based on the story of Georgian author Nestan (Nene) Kvinikadze, is a Georgian and Swedish co-production, telling the story of a young woman, who returns home after serving a long sentence in prison, and tries to re-earn the trust of people and establish herself in the society.

 

Filming of the feature took place in Georgia, in Tbilisi and Chiatura in particular.
