The most important thing for us is to stop the development of a large-scale epidemic in the country, now we are in the management stage, - the head of the National Center for Disease Control, Amiran Gamkrelidze told reporters.

As Amiran Gamkrelidze noted, the second or third wave of the epidemic will be discussed by scientists.

"The main thing for us today is to stop the development of a large-scale epidemic in the country, we are now in the management stage. We need to manage, on the one hand, new cases and, on the other hand, a gradually open economy so that the population can work, have an income, we have to keep that balance. There will be a second wave, there will be a third, there will be a fourth, serious scientists are discussing this. There is a dynamic that the virus seems to be shrinking, not only with us but globally. It is possible that this reduction will continue in the summer as well, ”Gamkrelidze said.

According to him, the assumption that the Takara sun killed the virus or disappeared altogether, as the flu virus disappears in the summer, was not justified.

"The most important thing is that all cases are controlled and subject to management," Amiran Gamkrelidze said.
