One person has been arrested on charges of the robbery at a hardware store in Varketili

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has detained one person in Tbilisi on charges of robbery. According to the agency, the accused robbed one of the shops in Varketili stole 3,000 GEL from the owner of the shop with the threat of a knife and fled the scene.

 

"As a result of operative and investigative actions, the officers of the Isani-Samgori Division of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained T.A, born in 2000, in Tbilisi on charges of robbery.

 

The offense carries a maximum sentence of 5 to 7 years in prison.

 

The investigation revealed that on June 4 of this year, the accused robbed one of the shops in Varketili stole 3,000 GEL from the owner of the shop with the threat of a knife and fled the scene.

 

The investigation is underway under Article 179 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which stipulates robbery, ”the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
