Border guard accused of murdering employee of border crossing point surrendered to police

A border guard, who is accused of murdering an employee of the border crossing point in Mestia Municipality, Svaneti region of Georgia, has surrendered to police, the General Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia told InterPressNews.

 

The Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the incident that occurred between border guards in Mulakhi village on April 20, leaving one employee of the border crossing point dead.

 

The Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation under article 108 of the criminal code of Georgia involving premeditated murder that is punished by imprisonment for a term from seven to fifteen years.
