Metropolitan Daniel says clergymen do not need wearing masks in the closed place

17.04.20 15:45

Metropolitan Daniel of Chiatura and Sachkhere claim that the clergy do not need wearing masks in the closed place.

According to him, those who serve the clergy, have got the face masks.

"For centuries Christians used to help infected people without any protective means. A lot of them died. While there is a risk factor, parishioners and clergy arrive here because this prayer is critically important for eliminating the epidemic.

As for wearing the masks by the clergymen, it is not mandatory for them, because we stand before God, we are linked with God and this [wearing the masks] means incorrect religious attitude,” Metropolitan Daniel of Chiatura and Sachkhere said.
