A group of clergymen and theologians address the parish with a joint statement.

13 clergymen have announced that they are temporarily suspending to participate in liturgical activities.

The statement reads that those, who refrain from gathering due to the coronavirus pandemic in the recent period, are not betraying Christ, but are trying to perform the spiritual liturgy for the service of their loved ones.

“Saving people’s lives does not have any alternative. According to the Bible, a human is the crown of a divine creature. Therefore, the primary obligation of the Church is to save the crown of this divine creation.

Those who today refrain from gathering for worship because of the epidemic are not betraying Christ, on the contrary, they are trying to perform the spiritual liturgy for the service of their loved ones.

Unfortunately, we have to temporarily refuse to take an active part in liturgical life, but this is just temporary measure, taking the current circumstances into account; This does not mean that we refuse and will not participate in it at all,” the statement reads.

The statement is signed by 13 clergymen and 16 theologians.
