Wearing a mask in closed public space will be mandatory from today, Prime Minister's Spokesman Irakli Chikovani said at a briefing at the governmental administration.

According to him, legal entities will be responsible for fulfilling this requirement, while violation of the rule will result in a fine of GEL 15 000.

"If each citizen, private sector, businesses, religious organizations or civic groups do not fully protect the law, this will serve as grounds for sharp aggravation of the epidemiological situation and we will have to take the strictest measures in the near future, namely we will have to impose a full quarantine on the whole country. We strongly urge you to show high responsibility and take care of your own and others’ life, stay at home, "- said Irakli Chikovani.

In addition, as Chikovani noted, restrictions will also be imposed on entry to cemeteries from tomorrow.
