Although we are still in the middle stage and in the pre-crisis period, we should be ready to defeat the virus and help the Georgian economy to start running again, Natia Turnava, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, said at a briefing at the government administration on Friday.

According to Turnava, in the post-crisis economic plan, all the levers and programs in the field of economy will be activated.

"Today, the Prime Minister has instructed the ministers of the economic bloc to start working on a post-crisis economic plan, or a revival of the economy, after we defeat the coronavirus challenge. We are a state, which takes early steps and are the exemplary state that is dealing with the global challenge - coronavirus. As for the economy, we will do the same here. Although we are still in the middle stage and in the pre-crisis period, we should be ready to defeat the virus and help the Georgian economy run again, reach its previous level and we should be ready for it, "Natia Turnava said.

According to her, a main post-crisis task of the government will be first of all to develop the Georgian business that can replace imports with local products and to ensure that “we can provide ourselves with critical products”.
