Georgia will act on the recommendations made by international organizations regarding the product import from China.
“According to the recommendations, we have banned live animals import from China. Other foodstuffs are not at risk,” the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili said earlier today.
The Minister explains that “Georgia is a member of international organizations, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia cooperates with them that are responsible for the implementation of international conventions, including risk assessment.”
Imports of live animals from the People’s Republic of China have been banned to prevent the introduction and spread of coronavirus (2019-nCoV) on the territory of Georgia.
