29.01.20 13:00

The construction of flats for eco-migrant families living in slum-like conditions in Batumi’s so-called ‘Dream Town’ will start in February, said Head of the Adjara region government Tornike Rijvadze earlier today.

He noted that 16 million GEL ($5.5 mln/€5 mln) has been allocated in 2020 from the Adjara budget for this project.

At the first stage, 580 families will receive modern flats.

About 2,000 jobs were created in the Adjara region at construction worksites in 2019 said Rijvadze, adding that the local government is planning to increase this number up to 6,000 this year.

In 2019, more than 45 projects have been carried out for which 1 billion GEL ($0.4 bln/€0.3 bln) was allocated for the project.
