According to the chairwoman of the National Movement, Tina Bokuchava, the party congress and a kind of presentation will be held on July 8, where, among other issues, the issue of the chairman of the party and the chairman of the political council will be decided.

According to Bokuchava, she will be responsible for the National Movement entering the parliamentary elections under her chairmanship.

"You know that the political council is the main decision-maker of the National Movement. This is a deliberative body, and therefore it is very important for intra-party democracy that we consider all decisions in the format of the political council.

We are planning to hold a very important event on July 8. In a way, it will be a presentation and also a part of the congress, where we have to make a decision regarding the chairman of the party and also the chairman of the political council, as well as other news that the public will hear and see very soon. We have gathered today to make decisions.

You know, Levan Khabeishvili made a decision to offer the United National Movement to be the chairman of the political council. I will have the responsibility to enter the elections under my leadership and under my chairmanship.

As for the configurations, you know that there is a Brussels declaration of opposition unity, which was signed by the National Movement together with 5 other opposition parties. We have repeatedly stated that we believe it is very important to have a common opposition front in the elections, which have become a referendum, at this crucial moment. Therefore, we are ready for these few days to make every effort to achieve unity", said Tina Bokuchava.

When asked what the National Movement offers to other opposition parties, Bokuchava noted that "everything that unites us".

“Let's be realistic. The red line for me and I think for all pro-Western parties should be the defeat of [Bidzina] Ivanishvili's regime", said Bokuchava.
