24.06.24 16:23

I call on the representatives of the opposition once again not to miss their work! - Chairman of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, said at the session of the Bureau of the Parliament, thereby responding to the boycott announced by the opposition for parliamentary debates in the current session week.

According to him, it is the duty of the opposition to attend the sessions.

"Several letters have been received from the opposition, where it is mentioned that they are not going to attend the plenary session. I will explain once again that it is wrong practice when they refuse to attend the session without specifying the issue, it is not the essence of the so-called boycott. There is no boycott rule in any rules of procedures that I know. In the hands of the opposition, it has simply become an excuse for their absence. I call on the representatives of the opposition once again not to miss their work! It is their job to attend the sessions and take part in the discussions," Papuashvili said.

For information, in the current session week, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze will present a report on the government's activities in the Parliament.
