Ivanishvili's Government did not listen to the warning - we all understand very well how many dangers the handing over of the Anaklia port to the Chinese company creates, - Tina Bokuchava, the chairman of the United National Movement, said about this while speaking about the Anaklia port.

"Even under the previous administration, during the visit of the Secretary of State of the United States of America, he openly stated that expelling American investors from Anaklia and replacing them with investors from countries that are not friends of Georgia was a big strategic mistake. Ivanishvili's Government did not heed this warning and did it, expelling the American investors, handing over the port of Anaklia to a Chinese company, whose controlling package is owned by the Chinese Communist Government. We all understand very well how many dangers this creates for Georgia from an economic point of view, as well as from a strategic point of view," Bokuchava said.

At the same time, she also spoke about the relationship between Georgia and the United States of America and noted that "if we want visa-free travel, to remove all restrictions with the United States of America, we must change this Government."

"Believe me, the MEGOBARIAct will be implemented immediately, which will give us the opportunity to travel to the United States of America under the visa-free regime," Bokuchava said.

For information, the US ambassador to Georgia, Robin Dunnigan, also spoke about the port of Anaklia in an interview with InterpressNews.

"The majority owner of the CCCC company, with which the Georgian Government signed a contract [in the Anaklia port project], is the Chinese Communist Party. The Chinese Communist Party is the number one financier of the Russian army today. So, one question is, why should you deepen economic ties with the party that finances your occupier?" Robin Dunnigan said in an exclusive interview to InterpressNews.
