Based on the function of the European Parliament, the distribution of powers in the Parliament is less important, since the European Parliament has less political weight compared to other structures of the European Union, the Chairman of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, said while talking to journalists about the elections held in the European Parliament.

As the Chairman of the Parliament noted, the tendency is towards more conservative parties.

According to Papuashvili, the main message of these elections is that they should agree on common European interests based on the national interests of the country, and not vice versa.

"Depending on the function of the European Parliament, the distribution of powers in the European Parliament is less important, since compared to other structures of the European Union, the European Parliament has less political weight. However, we see that the trend is towards more conservative parties. It is more important what the results were in this regard in the member states themselves. We see that because of these elections, extraordinary elections will be held in France, the Prime Minister of Belgium resigned, and the ruling coalition in Germany took the third, fourth, and fifth places. To some extent, this shows the evaluation of the government's policies by the population in these countries - be it France or Germany.

Also, there is a certain reaction to the policies that governments have had, especially in the direction of foreign policy. The governments of these countries must listen to the mood of their population and their assessments. It is a fact that one of the trends is conservative approaches. The population pays special attention to traditional values. People are tired of the neoliberal approaches that are often imposed on the population.

One important trend is that young people in Europe increasingly support conservative, traditional approaches. Including in the [EU] member states, as the elections have shown, especially the youth think about the interests of the country and the people.

I think the main message of these elections is that they should agree on the common European interests based on the national interests of the country, and not the other way around," Shalva Papuashvili said.
